PASTOR'S MESSAGE
DECEMBER 2005

Hectic holiday preparations?
New Year resolutions?

HERE ARE 37 WAYS
FOR CHRISTIANS TO
REDUCE STRESS:
Return to
Pastor's
Message Page

1.        Pray often (starting in the morning).
2.        Worship regularly.  And take what you "learned" at worship into your week!
3.        Go to bed on time and get up on time - - -start the day rested and unrushed.
4.        Say NO to projects that won't fit into your schedule or that will compromise your
mental or physical health (and not help the project when you fail to keep the promise!)
5.        Delegate tasks to capable others.
6.        Simplify and unclutter your life.
7.        Remember that less can be more.
8.        Allow extra time to do things.
9.        Pace yourself.
10.      Take one day at a time.
11.      Separate worries from concerns.  Find out what God would have you do.
12.      Live within your budget.
13.      Have back-ups (spare car key in your wallet, hidden house key, etc.)
14.      KMS (Keep Mouth Shut).  This single piece of advise can prevent an enormous amount
           of trouble.
15.      Do something for the kid in you every day.
16.      Carry a Bible to read whenever you are waiting in line.
17.      Get enough exercise.
18.      Eat right.
19.      Get organized.
20.      Don't use a cell phone when driving.
21.      Write down thoughts and inspirations.
22.      Every day find some time to be alone.
23.      Problems?  Talk to God on the spot and try to nip small problems in the bud.
24.      Make friends with godly people.
25.      Keep a folder of favorite scripture verses on hand.
26.      The shortest bridge between hope and despair is built on prayer.
27.      Laugh.
28.      Laugh some more!
29.      Take your commitments seriously (but yourself not at all.)
30.      Develop a forgiving attitude.
31.      Be kind to unkind people (they need it)
32.      Sit on your ego.
33.      Talk less and listen more.
34.      Slow down,
35.      Remind yourself that you are not the general manager of the universe.
36.      Every night before bed think of one thing you're especially grateful for that you've
          never been grateful for before.
37.      End your day in prayer.  God has a way of turning things around for you.
      See Romans 8:31!
