Praying past our needs .

"Let us pray for the whole people of God in Christ Jesus and for all people according to their needs."

Recently, these words struck me like a bolt of lightning.  Has overactive neediness worked its way into the
prayer of the church? Have we turned our prayer time into an increasingly sad recitation of the woes and worries
of the congregation?  At worship we pray for "all people according to their needs" almost exclusively.  For years
we have completely overlooked the balanced approach suggested in our worship book:  let us pray for the "whole
people of God."

Aren't we supposed to thank God for what is good, too?  When you come to church this week, take a moment
to fill out a prayer request form in the pew rack in front of you.  I, along with the prayer ministry team, would
like to include you in our prayers.

Pastor Jack A. Steltzer
We believe that God is pleased to demonstrate His power and His grace when Christians pray.
This ministry is available to all persons seeking prayers, church members and the
community-at-large.

We, the members of the Prayer Ministry, and Pastor Steltzer, would like to include you in our
prayers.  If you have any joys or concerns, please list them below.
