Our Mission:

We provide groceries to those in need located on the West Side of
Bethlehem.  Although this is the area we are dedicated to serving, we turn
no one away when they ask for food.  The families that utilize us can come
once a month for food, but if they are in need more that and come to us,
they are given food.  Also with the help of donations we provide very
limited amounts of personal care items such as soap and shampoo. On an
average we are supplying food to over 150 families a month.   The food is
in the form of packed grocery bags, which is given out based on the
number of people in the family.

All work is done by volunteers, we do not have any paid employees.
100% of everything that is given us goes toward providing food for
families.

Our Need:

Due to economic challenges we are seeing an increase in the number of
new families needing assistance and many families who have not needed
us for several months are now returning to the Food Bank for help.

We have had to go out and purchase meat products so that each person can
receive 1 pound of a meat product per month.  That expense  and money
we have to pay to receive food from Second Harvest has severely
depleted our bank account.

We are in need of monetary donations so we can continue to purchase
meat products. We also can use donations of food and meat products.  We
currently give out one of the following:  frozen chicken, frozen ground
turkey, frozen ground beef, hot dogs.  We have freezers, but no
refrigeration so anything we get must either be frozen or be able to be
frozen after we get it.

In addition to receiving private donations, we were hoping that some
corporate donations would could be solicited.

Please feel free to contact me  to discuss the Food Bank.  I am available
to speak to groups/civic organizations to further this cause.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

                                          A RAINBOW OF CARING

Through the  TOOLS & BLANKETS Program, congregations and groups around the
country reach out in compassion to people in need in more than 80 countries.  Simply
said, the right tool at the right time can make a world of difference in the lives of a
family or a community.  You can be part of the
rainbow of caring:

$25 can provide five warm blankets for a family left homeless by a hurricane in
     Florida.

$100 can buy fishing nets and equipment for a village cooperative in Bolivia.

$175 can shelter an extended family of disaster survivors in an extra-large tent.

$250 can provide a sewing machine to a widow learning to support her family in
    Afghanistan.

$5,090 can drill a well and bring clean, safe water to a village in Malawi.

Please give generously to the TOOLS & BLANKETS Program.

Looking for a unique gift for someone?  How about a chicken?  Or a well?  Give a gift that
